The main issue shown in the movie “The Lorax” is deforestation. The movie depicts a city called Thneed-ville where all the trees have been cut down. In this city everything is plastic, almost nobody has seen a real, living tree and the air quality is so bad the citizens have to buy bottled air. The city was plunged in to this predicament by an evil businessman called the Once-ler. The Once-ler used the trees to manufacture a mulit-purpose product called a thneed that was made of tufts from a truffula tree. The Once-ler did not, however, use sustainable methods of farming his materials and, as a result, cut down the whole forest and transformed the thriving eco-system in to a barren wasteland. Deforestation is a major issue in the Lorax.
